Casper Cloaking Technology Window Film
Transparency is everything. But so is confidentiality. Hello…. Casper.
Casper™ by Designtex
Casper™ Cloaking Technology by Designtex is an architectural film for glass walls that obscures digital screens to outside view. It acts as a smart shield to ensure data privacy while providing the peace of mind to collaborate freely in any working environment. This is a breakthrough that will unleash space design in the networked modern world while fostering a private, safe and collaborative space. Casper is the only cloaking technology of its kind anywhere across the globe. Its the perfect confidentially cloak, obscuring only the light transmitted by large LED displays.
What is cloaking film?
You have to see it to believe it …
Cloaking Film renders wall-mounted and other large LED displays in conference rooms, huddle rooms, and other glass fronted rooms black when viewed from outside the room, while everyone in the room can work freely with peace of mind. Most large, wall-mounted displays can be cloaked with the exception of 3D displays, Microsoft Surface Hubs, Barco Video Walls, OLED displays, Plasma Screens, and Projection Video.
This subtle material is used to mask glass windows for privacy of digital information without the need for the boxy, space-reducing walls. Cloaking film is the buffer that allows the design advantage and practicality of glass enclosed meeting rooms.
Add to the décor of your office or conference space!
Casper™ Cloaking Technology products also include a suite of graphic patterns that provide an additional layer of subtle and aesthetic visual privacy. Our cloaking technology can either be used on its own or combined with one of these patterns to dial in the perfect balance of privacy and openness. Our range of designs will suit all tastes and styles and our catalogue can be seen below.
Casper™ Graphic Films
The Casper product range includes the cloaking technology film and a suite of 15 optional graphic pattern films specifically designed to complement the Casper Cloaking Technology film. The Casper cloaking technology can be used on its own, or in conjunction with one of the following designs to add flair, panache and a bit of character to any work space. From geometric shapes, to blocks and rectangles, waves and swirls, our collection offers both subtle and statement designs.
Validating Monitors for compatibility with Casper
You will need to verify if the screen is compatible using the Window Energy Solutions ‘Orientation Validation Tool’.
- Be sure to test the monitor with some sort of image or data being shown.
- Always test Casper while standing in the room with the monitor to be cloaked, with nothing between the monitor and the Casper sample.
- While standing in front of the monitor to be cloaked, hold a Casper sample vertically and view the monitor.
- If the information on the monitor can’t be seen, then the technology is compatible with Casper when it is installed VERTICALLY at 0 degrees.
- If the information on the monitor is clearly visible, rotate the Casper sample so it is horizontal.
- If when the sample is rotated 90° and the information on the monitor can’t be seen, then the technology is compatible with Casper installed HORIZONTALLY at 90 degrees.
Note: You may find that Casper DOES cloak the information on the screen when held at 45°, but an installation at this angle is impractical and very expensive due to the difficulty of installation and large amount of waste.
Casper™ is most effective when viewing a display that is parallel to the glass where the technology is installed. Casper™ should appear completely opaque when viewed from directly in front of the display and the display is at eye level. To an observer moving past the conference room at an acute angle or viewing a display at table level, Casper™ will appear less opaque. This light leakage may make displays partially visible while still providing confidentiality.
To determine if this will be an issue for your application, position a sample at several locations – centred, far left, and far right – in the room to demonstrate the degree of opaqueness/confidentiality that Casper™ will provide at different positions. The worst case scenarios are when the viewer is very close to the glass and viewing at an extreme angle. The addition of Casper™ Graphic Film can help alleviate this issue.
