Titan Xtra delivers for the Australian Synchrotron

Window Energy Solutions recently completed a project for the Australian Synchrotron in Clayton VIC.

The Australian Synchrotron facility opposite Monash University in Clayton, is the most advanced cutting edge, scientific testing facility in the Southern Hemisphere.

Once built and occupied however, there were two serious problems. In many of the offices it was simply too hot in summer and often there was too much glare to be able to work comfortably.

The glass was 10mm thick and many of the panes were large, thereby limiting what films could be applied to the interior of the glass.

As such, the decision was made to apply all film on the exterior side of the glass.

The films chosen were Hanita Pacific Titan 07 Xtra and Titan 20 Xtra. These films were chosen for their thermal efficiency and their aesthetics.

These applications have proved so successful that those films have since been applied across a further four buildings subsequently built on the same site.

The advantages of using Hanita Pacific Titan window film on this project include:

  • External appearance is an attractive complement to the buildings aesthetics and efficiency.
  • The less reflective interior maintains a pleasant indoor ambience.
  • Outstanding durability for long term solar performance.
  • An exterior film with a reflective extremely energy efficient  outdoor appearance that gives excellent solar heat rejection.
  • Rapid Payback.
  • Blocks 99% of damaging UV rays protecting interior office furnishings and skin from skin cancer and premature aging.
  • Hanita Pacific Titan 07 Xtra has a Heat Reduction of 83% and a Glare Rreduction of 91%.
  • Hanita Pacific Titan 20 Xtra has a Heat Reduction of 69% and a Glare Reduction of 79%.
