Armorcoat Window Safety and Security films

As many as 1500 Australians each year suffer glass-related injuries. Many of these are preventable.

Application of Armorcoat Window Safety and Security films will bring everyday glass up to Australian Standard ASNZ-1288 for Grade A safety glass.

Project Overview

In 2003 Window Energy Solutions Pty Ltd (formerly Sound Solution Glazing Pty Ltd) was selected on a panel of three companies to be involved in a pilot program to upgrade all ‘Human Impact Zone’ glazing in Victorian Government schools by installing Armorcoat 100 Micron clear safety film thereby bringing the glass up to Australian Standard ASNZ-1288. GHD was the master contractor of the total upgrade program. We have installed the film in more than 750 schools statewide.

Window Energy Solutions was then contracted directly by the NSW Education Department to upgrade the glazing in all 2240 schools across the state. This will be completed early in 2013, having spanned a three and a half year period, 18 months less than initially agreed under the contract.

During this program, a large quantity of solar film has also been installed to give thermal benefits to the schools.

Having completed over 3000 schools, ahead of time and on budget, Window Energy Solutions can certainly be seen as the experts in this specialised field.

Armorcoat Safety Films

Optically clear Armorcoat safety films are colourless and undetectable on glass, which makes them the perfect protection retrofit. Unlike many other films, Armorcoat clear safety films are non-reflective so it is virtually invisible on your windows.

The resilient layers of high-tensile polyester, aggressive adhesives, ultraviolet inhibitors and scratch-resistent coating provide exceptional impact resistant capabilities-with thicker Security films offering greater protection.

Not only do these clear films hold broken shards in place, the ultraviolet inhibitors help protect furnishings and valuables against fade damage.
